Commercial Co-venturer

"Commercial Co-venturer" means any person licensed by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and who, for profit or other commercial consideration, conducts, promotes, underwrites, arranges, or sponsors a sale, performance, collection, or sale of donated goods or event of any kind that is advertised in conjunction with the name of any charitable organization. Any such person who will benefit in goodwill only may not be considered a Commercial Co-venturer if the collection and distribution of the proceeds of the sale, performance, or event are supervised and controlled by the benefiting Charitable Organization.

Any such person whose annual contributions to Charitable Organizations do not exceed $10,000 is exempt from the licensing requirement.

Annual Fundraising Activity Report (PDF)

  • Due annually, no later than September 30th.
  • May be filed separately from the renewal application, which is due on November 30th, or together with the application on September 30th.

  • Renewal applications received or completed after November 30 and before March 1 are subject to a late fee of $50.
