Trainee Real Property Appraiser
Trainee real property appraiser means a person licensed by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation to appraise under the direct supervision of a licensed residential real property appraiser, certified residential real property appraiser or certified general real property appraiser those properties that the supervising appraiser is permitted to appraise.

| Requirements |
- Have made arrangements to work under the direct supervision of a certified residential real property appraiser or certified general real property appraiser who meets the qualifications for supervisor. (Special Note: The Trainee's supervisor is required by Chapter 230, Section 1 (A)(3) of the Board's rules, to personally inspect each appraised property with the trainee for a minimum of the first fifty (50) appraisals AND until the supervisor determines that the trainee is competent in accordance with the Competency Rule of Uniform Standrads of Professional Appraisal Practice for the property type.)

NONRESIDENT APPLICANTS AND APPLICANTS WHO HOLD A LICENSE IN ANOTHER STATE
- An applicant who is licensed in a state that does not have a current reciprocal agreement with the Board may obtain a license upon filing the required application(s) and fees AND
- an irrevocable consent that service of process may be filed in a court of this State if necessary AND
- verification of licensure in another jurisdiction AND
- evidence that the license in the other jurisdiction was issued under qualifications equivalent to those in this State.

Renewal fees and information

- This license renews on the anniversary date of the original license.

| Requirements |
- A late fee of $50.00 is assessed for licenses renewed after the license expiration date.
- An applicant who submits an application for renewal more than 90 days after the license expiration date is subject to all requirements governing new applicants and is required to reapply with original license application, documentation and fees.
- Renewal reminders are mailed 30 days prior to the license expiration date. It is the licensee's responsibility to keep the board informed of the current license address and/or to see that the license is renewed absent the renewal application.
- CONTINUING EDUCATION - Trainees are exempt from the continuing education requirement for the fist license renewal. For the second and each subsequent renewal, trainees are required to show completion of 28 hours of Appraisal Qualifications Board approved continuing education, 7 hours of which must be for Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Continuing education must be completed within the current two-year license term.
