Board of Accountancy - Examinations

  • Certified Public Accountant
    The educational requirement to sit for the CPA examination is completion of a minimum 4-year baccalaureate or higher degree. Applicants who expects to complete a minimum 4-year baccalaureate or higher degree within 120 days following the examination is eligible to take the examination.

    The educational requirement to qualify for a certificate is at least 150 semester houirs of education, including a minimum 4-yaer baccalaureate or higher degree conferred by a college or university acceptable to the board, the total educational program to include basic courses in accounting and auditing determined to be appropriate under board rules. Refer to Chapter 3 of the Board's rules.
  • Public Accountant
    Public Accountant applicants must successfully pass the CPA Exam. To qualify to sit for the CPA Exam, the education requirement for a Public Accountant is a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent conferred by a college or university accdeptable to the board.
