November 10, 1999 Alessandro A. Iuppa, Superintendent of Insurance c/o Lyndy Morgan Docket No. INS 99-14 Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation Bureau of Insurance 34 State House Station Augusta, ME 04333-0034 Re: Docket No. INS 99-14 Dear Mr. Iuppa: I am writing in follow-up to the Reply to Associated Hospital Service of Maine and Anthem Health Plan of Maine, Inc.'s Response to Pending Motions to Intervene, which The Maine Health Alliance forwarded to your office on November 5, 1999. Upon review of Maine Insurance Rule Chapter 350, it is our understanding that a party seeking intervention must serve all parties to the proceeding. It is further our understanding that the parties of record are Associated Hospital Service of Maine, Anthem Health Plan of Maine, Inc. and the Attorney General, but would not include the parties that have moved to become intervenors. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we mailed today a copy of The Maine Health Alliance's Reply to all proposed intervenors of record. If you have any questions or concerns, or if we may be of further assistance in any manner, please feel free to give me a call. Very truly yours, Emmy S. Monahan ESM:kab cc: Judith S.
