STATE OF MAINE

DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL AND FINANCIAL REGULATION

BUREAU OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

BANK SUPERINTENDENT’S

NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES

Five County Credit Union, Bath, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to expand its field of membership, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S.A. § 848.

Presently, Five County Credit Union’s field of membership consists of employees of Bath Iron Works and any person living or working in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Lincoln or Sagadahoc Counties, Maine.

The Credit Union requested approval to expand its field of membership to add the following:

  1. Persons worshipping in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Lincoln or Sagadahoc Counties;
  2. Persons living, working, or worshipping in Somerset or Waldo Counties;
  3. Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of the credit union; and
  4. Retirees of Bath Iron Works.

The Bureau reviewed the extensive documentation submitted by Five County Credit Union in support of its request.  As a result of that review and analysis, the Bureau approved the first three expansions of its field of membership, but did not approve the request to add retirees of Bath Iron Works.

Therefore, as amended, the field of membership for Five County Credit Union consists of employees of Bath Iron Works; any person living, working or worshipping in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset or Waldo Counties, Maine; and spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of the credit union.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title V, Chapter 375, Subchapter VII (5 M.R.S.A. § 11001, et seq.).
