The Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection is responsible for administration of many consumer finance-related laws and rules in the State of Maine, including consumer credit, collection, non-bank mortgage lending and credit reporting.

Title 9 - A: Maine Consumer Credit Code including non-bank lenders, general creditors, loan brokers, and rent-to-own companies.

Title 32 Chapter 80, Subchapter I - money transmitter;

Title 10, Chapter 222 - payroll processors;

Title 10, Chapter 210 - Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and
