The Board of Osteopathic Licensure was established in 1919 to protect the public through the regulation of the practice of osteopathic medicine by maintaining high professional standards.
It is the responsibility of the Board to license qualified applicants. Through its licensing process, the Board provides assurance that the physician has received his/her degree from an accredited college of osteopathic medicine and has received the appropriate level of training.
The physician, once licensed, must adhere to accepted standards of professional conduct. Further, once a license is granted, it must be renewed every two years. Each licensee must demonstrate that he/she has obtained the necessary continuing medical education as well as having maintained the accepted standards of medical practice and ethical behavior.
The Board offers the following services to the public.
