License Renewal - Online Renewal Service

Welcome to the Board of Licensure in Medicine Online License Renewal Service

This online service allows physicians to renew their license between 4:00am and 11:00pm EST with a valid Visa or MasterCard through Maine.gov's secure payment server.

NOTE: Physicians renewing an active or inactive license that has expired will incur a $100.00 late fee. If you feel that you should not be assessed a late fee due to special circumstances please contact the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine directly at 207-287-3782 to complete your renewal.

Who can use this service?

The following must be true to use this service:

  • You are renewing one of the following licenses:
    • ACTIVE Maine Medical License
    • INACTIVE Maine Medical License
  • Your license has not lapsed
  • Your license is not under suspension or withdrawn

What you will need:

  • Your personal information (Name, Date of birth, SSN, License #)
  • Valid credit card (Visa or MasterCard)

After Submitting the application:

  • If the renewal is successfully completed and paid for, including no "yes" answers on the "Licensing Questionnaire" and all required CME's are reported, MBLM will update our database within 1 business day.
  • MBLM will also mail the applicant a new wall license and wallet card with the revised expiration date.
Notice - 01/10/08 :
The online renewal service has been updated to allow doctors over the age of 70 to renew for free.
Please note that doctors over the age of 70 are still subject to the $100.00 late fee if applicable.
