Maine State Communications Network (MSCommNet) Interoperability Demonstration a Success!

On May 5, 2010, the MSCommNet radio project office sponsored an interoperability demonstration at the Governor Hill Mansion in Augusta.

The event was hosted by Harris Corporation, the prime contractor for the State's radio communications upgrade project.  Opening remarks by Chief Information Officer (CIO) Dick Thompson and a presentation from Harris were followed by the actual end user equipment interoperability demonstration scenarios.   A question and answer session provided an opportunity for attendees to follow-up on specifics of the demonstration or the overall MSCommNet project.

The morning session was attended by 23 VIPs including Legislators from the Appropriations Committee and the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, a representative from the Governor's Office, several county emergency management agency directors, members of the Statewide Radio Board, and others.   The afternoon session was attended by 30 technical users from various agencies and organizations statewide.

Video clips of the event will be available for those unable to attend, and posted here on the MSCommNet website.
