Radio Services

Service description

Provide service and equipment for state Radio Operations.

Benefits for users

Availability:

Technical support of dispatch centers and major infrastructure components is provided 24x7x365. Technical support for mobile/ portable radios is provided 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on business days.

Service Components Included in the Base Price:

  • Install and remove mobile radios in vehicles.
  • Maintain mobile and portable radios, dispatch centers, and the radio network and sites.
  • Monitoring of infrastructure components (towers, generators, solar, radios, etc.).
  • Provide site backup generator power to ensure 24x7 operations.
  • Reprogram radios once a year at no cost.
  • Provide certified and/or licensed radio technicians.
  • All necessary hardware and accessories for installation and maintenance.
  • Active inventory of all radio devices.
  • A service history to identify radios that have an unusually high amount of repairs.

Options Available for Additional Charge:

  • Additional radio reprogramming.
  • Installation of non-radio equipment (lights, racks, etc)

Rates charged: for this service:

Radio support services are consolidated under the Office of Information Technology (OIT).  Rates are developed based on technician salaries, test equipment, radio site leases, vehicles, parts, and other costs to maintain the entire state radio network. Rates are variable based on radio equipment type, and cover all support of the devices.  Rates do not cover replacement of the equipment.  All radio equipment is added and managed by OIT in an inventory system developed during the deployment of new user radio equipment in 2013.  The inventory is used as the source for monthly billing of services.

Customers (users) responsibilities related to this service include:

  • Active Footprints ticket.
  • Pre-authorized payment for additional services.    
  • Item to be serviced needs to be currently on the user's inventory list, and paying monthly billing.
