Secure File Transfer

Overview

The Secure File Transfer Automation Server is capable of securely moving files to and from ftp accounts inside or outside the State’s network or file shares and servers within the State’s network. In addition to the secure transmission of data, the data is stored securely on the server with encryption in flight and at rest.

  • The State of Maine uses Secure File Transfer and Secure File Transfer Automation
  • Secure File Transfer allows for FTPS (ftp over explicit SSL) and SFTP (ftp over SSH) connections
  • Data transmission is done either by using the sftp or ftps protocols or by the web using HTTPS;  the first two methods require the client to have ftp software; the latter method allows the client to connect using any web browser

Included

  • Work with system administrators to provide requirements and provide commitment to test and accept system
  • Troubleshooting client software for connections
