Maine Progress

"Among these states [top ten of the Electronic Commerce/Business Regulation portion of the survey], Maine experienced the most progress, improving by 37.12 points over last year's score." 1

August 6, the Center for Digital Democracy released Part II of their survey of states. Part II included two categories:

Electronic Commerce/Business Regulation: The availability of regulations, forms and online assistance, and the ability to submit required paperwork using the Internet; and

Taxation/Revenue: The ability of taxpayers to obtain information, submit returns and correspond with revenue authorities online, and the ability of states to use digital technologies to store and retrieve taxpayer information.

Maine scored very well! We were ranked #2 (guess we’ll have to "try harder" next year) in the Electronic Commerce/Business Regulation category, and #14 in the Taxation/Revenue category! See http://www.centerdigitalgov.com/center/digitalstates.phtml for the entire survey to date.
