The Maine State Museum Store has books and gifts relating to our museum's collection & the State of Maine and its history.
For children, the museum has its own coloring book as well as a wonderful selection of Maine books, toys, games and other fun and educational items.
We have many different mineral samples, junior field guides, reproduction historic toys & documents, plush animals, twig pens & pencils, stone arrowhead necklaces…just to name a few.
Our store carries a large assortment of gifts and books with a Maine theme for adults, too! We have vases, candleholders and clocks made from Maine granite, as rugged as our coast and just as beautiful. The fantastic candles made from antique glassware molds must be seen to be believed. We carry Maine state flags in sizes from 4x6 inches to 5x8 feet, lovely jewelry made with tourmaline and other Maine gems, and our Maine-related book section is certainly worth browsing.
Also, look for unique glass merchandise to tie into the “Reflections of Maine” glass exhibit; recycled glass sun catchers & oil lamps, reproduction small glass bottles, stained glass hangings, posters and notecards among other wonderful things.
Relating to the "Rugs All Marked Out" exhibit, we have a variety of postcards and books about rug hooking history, as well as colored burlap patterns based on two of the E.S. Frost & Company patterns.
As always, museum members receive a 10% discount.
