Volunteer Program

If you would like to be a part of the volunteer program and live close enough to Augusta, we would welcome your interest. You don't need special training, just some curiosity and time. Volunteers help in all levels of the institution's operations, from helping in the exhibit galleries with Visitor Services staff to researching collections, organizing data and scanning digital photos. All of the people who volunteer here add their efforts to make the Maine State Museum a quality place to visit and an award-winning institution.
