  • PR Newswire - Newswire articles on many companies and industries published during the past 12 months. Newswires are good sources of information on current events such as new product development, management changes, and legal issues.

  • EDGAR - U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission - includes 10-K and 10-Q reports and proxy statements filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by publicly traded companies. Annual report to shareholders cannot be retrieved through EDGAR, as it is not an SEC filing.

  • Hoover's Online - Basic data from Hoover company profiles is free of charge; the complete profile is available for a fee. Links are provided to EDGAR and individual company Web sites.

Individual Company and Magazine Web Sites

Many companies and business magazines have their own Web sites. Usually, the address is simply the name of the company or magazine, e.g. www.ford.com or nytimes.com. If this does not work, search the company name using a search engine such as Google or Yahoo.
