Maine Newspaper Clippings Books & Maine Vertical File Folders

The Maine State Library houses a unique collection of newspaper clippings on Maine-related subjects, taken from some of the state's larger newspapers between the late 1920s and 1970. These acid-free facsimiles are arranged in binders by topic and cover a broad spectrum of interests, from Maine biographies and industrial history to CCC camps and Maine rivers.

The Maine State Library also has extensive coverage of Maine topics (including biographies) in its Maine Vertical File folders. These folders include not only newspaper clippings, but also magazine articles, pamphlets, and ephemera.

We encourage you to use the Maine Clippings Books and the Maine Vertical File folders in your search for information on specific Maine-related topics and Maine people. These materials must be used at the State Library, and may be photocopied.
