Directions
The Maine State Library is located in the Cultural building in the State House Complex.
From the South
- From I-95, take Exit 109 (first Augusta
exit).
- Bear right toward downtown Augusta, merging
onto US Route 202-East (Western Avenue).
- At the 3rd traffic signal (about ½ mile)
turn right onto Armory Street (following
dark blue and white sign for "State
Offices West").
- At the next traffic signal, turn right
onto Sewall Street.
- Turn left into the large parking lot,
following sign for "State Museum, Library,
Archives".
- The State Library is in the flat-roofed
building to your right.
From the North
- From I-95, take Exit 109A (the third Augusta
interchange).
- Follow steps 2-6 of "From the South".
From the West
- Follow US Route 202-East to Augusta (becomes Western Avenue).
- After the I-95 interchange, follow steps
3-6 of "From the South".
From the East
From Route 3
- Follow Route 3 to I-95 and the I-95 ramp
to Augusta-Portland.
- Take I-95 South to Exit 109A.
- Follow steps 2-6 of "From the South".
From Route 17
- Follow Route 17 to Route 201 South at the
East Side Traffic Circle in Augusta.
- Go three-quarters of the way around the
circle, following Route 201 South.
- At the next traffic circle, go three-quarters
of the way around, still following Route
201.
- At the second traffic light, turn right
into the parking lot.
- The library is the flat-roofed building on your
left at the top of the rise.
