Letter FY07November, 2007 Dear Librarian, Here is the Public Library Annual Report and related information for Fiscal Year 2007. Please use this as a working copy to gather your information and use as a reference to complete the online version. That website is: http://collect.informata.com. All logins and passwords remain the same. Please notice the April 1, 2008 deadline. The report is broken into two sections. The first section is fiscal year information which will be used for the federal report and for the statistics report. The second half of the report is asking for current information which will be used for directory and salary information. Please fill out all sections of the report as accurately and completely as possible. Remember: All questions on the online report must be supplied with an answer or the report can't be accepted. If there is no information, simply reply N/A. You must supply notes to any edit checks you receive before you can submit your report. (See the online instructions for complete details on how to do this.) If you do choose to send in the paper version, please make notes on the report where there are major differences between any of last year's figures and this year's. Remember also, the online report is not recognized as being complete until it is actually submitted. Please read the data definitions. This will help you in determining what information is being asked for and how to answer accurately, so that all libraries are interpreting these questions the same way. It is imperative that all public libraries submit a report. This information is valuable in accessing the strengths and weaknesses in the library community. Without a viable source - without good data - there can be no funding or legislative support at any level. It is a vital component to validate the integral role we play in our society. We invite your suggestions as to what additional information would be useful to you. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, State Data Coordinator for the FSCS |
