Maine Libraries: Something for Everyone - Spotlights

Maine Libraries: Something for Everyone promotes Maine libraries to the general public. Vist the monthly featured library as the spotlight on MaineLibraries. This serves as a clearinghouse for information about Maine’s many diverse libraries and the resources they have to offer.

The past Maine Libraries campaign created 4 general library public service announcements and 2 specific to MARVEL!: Maine's Virtual Library. The PSAs are intended for radio play at any time to promote libraries. If you have contacts with a local radio station, please encourage them to use the PSAs. Available transcript.

Summer Reading Resources

Maine State Library Outreach offers Maine libraries the opportunity to take advantage of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). CSLP has been in operation since 1987. Participating states have input into the selection of themes and materials to be developed for each year's program. The high-quality materials are professionally produced just for use by libraries in participating states.

Summer reading programs are proven to help prevent summer loss--a documented phenomenon where children lose ground in critical skills over summer months due to lack of use.
