No changes to the Van Delivery service will be made from January 1, 2024 to July 1, 2024. This includes adding new libraries; adding or stopping days to existing service; or changing from weekly to on-call service or vice versa. MSL is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new Van Delivery contract to begin July 1, 2024, and during this period MSL is not accepting requests for any changes.

Beginning in spring 2024, MSL will provide two windows per year for libraries to request to join the Van Delivery service; add or drop days to their existing service level; or change from weekly to on-call service or vice versa.

  • Each May, the window will be open to request changes to begin July 1.
  • Each November, the window will be open to request changes to begin January 1.

The request process will be formalized. It will include a review period, during which MSL and the Van Delivery vendor will consider each request in light of costs, needed route and scheduling changes, and other factors that will be detailed in the near future.
