Library Makeovers 2009

What is a Makeover?

The purpose of the Makeover is to make the library space more attractive and functional.  Each Makeover consists of a one-day visit by the Makeover Team whose members not only make changes to the library interior during their visit but also make suggestions for the future. Possibilities may include but not be limited to paint recommendations, furniture selection, re-arrangement of furnishings and equipment, floor coverings, and signage. Be prepared for change! If your collection needs to be weeded you should complete this task before the Makeover Team arrives. Note: The Team cannot work in areas that have mold or extensive water damage.
What is a Makeover Team?
The Makeover team includes Maine librarians, district consultants, and staff from Tucker Library Interiors, including an interior designer. Staff, volunteers or trustees may assist with the Makeover.
Makeover Funding
Each selected library will receive a stipend from the Maine Regional Library System.
How many libraries will be chosen?
A maximum of five libraries will be selected. The winning libraries will be chosen based on project feasibility and need as demonstrated by written application and accompanying photos. There is no fee to apply.
