Booksale Volunteer

Time Commitment

1-2 hours, weekly, minimum 3 month commitment

Purpose

Stocks and weeds library books for on-going booksale.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sorts through gifts
  • Uses guidelines and works with a staff member, separates possible collection additions and sale material from non-useable donations
  • May use computer to check to see if the item is already part of the library's collection
  • Stocks booksale shelves
  • Maintains an attractive, neat booksale area
  • Coordinates efforts with the friends of the Library for annual book sale
  • Assists with the annual booksale

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Required

  • Must be able to follow directions and guidelines
  • Able to work independently and with little supervision
  • Some knowledge of libraries, public interests, and reading trends desirable
  • Physical ability in keeping with job description
  • Discriminating judgment
