Services for Member Libraries
- Bindery - Statewide book binding
program through Bridgeport Bindery.
- 5 For 5 Children's Book Review -
CMLD offers member libraries an opportunity to acquire publishers'
review copies of new children's and young adult books in exchange for
one dollar and a brief written review for each title.
- ILL -
Interlibrary Loan - A service of the Maine
Regional Library System, the Maine State Library ( MSL ) is the
Area Reference and Resource Center (ARRC) for all libraries in CMLD.
- ILL Van Delivery System -
a fee-based voluntary service for participating libraries. Statewide
van delivery of library books and materials to facilitate interlibrary
lending and borrowing.
- Newsletters - Semi-annual
publication with library events mailed free to member libraries.
- Professional Collection -
The Central Maine Library District Office collection will gradually be phased out, since many professional development titles are available in the Maine State Library's collection and are available through Interlibrary Loan. http://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/interlib/ill_book.htm
- Professional Development - Trainings, workshops, and institutes offered
at low cost or no charge for member library staff.
- Public Library Directors' Roundtables -
are discussions, intended for library directors only, which
provide an opportunity for collegial support and collaborative problem
solving.
- Public Relations - Library publicity,
exhibits, and promotional items
- School Librarians' meetings - Open meetings held in member school
libraries for staff working with K-12. Currently meetings are held
in the Capital area (CASL) and Waterville area (WASL).
- SCOOP - Discounts on
library books, furniture, equipment and supplies.
- S.P.A.R.K. - Stimulating Programs And Resources
for Kids. SPARK meetings are open to any staff who work with children
and young adults in libraries.
