Central Maine Library District (CMLD)

The Central Maine Library District (CMLD) is one of three library districts in the Maine Regional Library System, a program of the Maine State Library created to improve library service for all Maine residents.

CMLD serves seven counties:

Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc, Somerset

Membership in the CMLD is free and open to any public, school, academic, medical, or special library in its service area.

The CMLD executive board is elected to represent the interests of all types of libraries in the planning of district services. Services include: Interlibrary Loan (ILL), SCOOP purchasing cooperatives for member libraries, and professional development workshops for library staff.
