Borrowing and Interlibrary Loan
See the frequently asked questions about borrowing privileges at the Maine State Library, interlibrary loan and other related questions.
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a resource sharing program among libraries in Maine, New England, and other states in the U.S. When a book or other item needed by a State Library user is checked out, unavailable for some other reason, or not owned by the Library, a patron may request that it be borrowed from another library by submitting an interlibrary loan request form (see below for books and articles)
Articles from a magazines, newspapers and academic journals may also be obtained through interlibrary loan when they are not directly available from the State library or the MARVEL databases.
