In
addition to calling 1-888-DIGSAFE,
Maine’s rules for safe digging also require you to notify, prior to
digging, any non-member facility owners (including homeowners)
that may have facilities within the proposed area of excavation.
We have developed a list, by town, of electric, gas, telephone, cable & water utilities in Maine to assist you in identifying the non-member facility operators that are utilities. Please be aware, that this is not an all-inclusive list of non-members. There may be other non-member facility owners that you are required to notify that are not included here. In addition, this list may contain errors or omissions. It is your responsibility, as the excavator, to identify and notify all of the owners of underground facilities in the vicinity of your excavation, whether they are indicated by this page or not.
