How Do Public Witness Hearings Work?
During the hearing, a PUC commissioner(s) or attorney examiner (who will conduct the hearing) will be seated in front of the room. Sign up sheets will be available for those who wish to make a statement at the hearing. Witnesses will speak in the order in which they signed up. The PUC representatives will begin the hearing and call people to present testimony. When it is your turn to speak, you will be asked to state your name. Remember to keep your statement brief and to the point. People wishing to comment who did not sign in will have an opportunity to speak after all other testimony. If time permits, the Commissioner(s) or attorney examiner will answer questions.
