Consumer Information

Initiating a Case

A case or proceeding begins when a utility, a group of consumers, or some other party asks the PUC for official Commission action or decision on an issue. The Commission also initiates its own investigations. In addition, ten or more consumers may submit a petition requesting that Commission open a case. Once the Commission opens a case, parties may file written testimony in the case.
