Commission Hearings and Deliberations

The public is welcome to observe Commission hearings, at which the Commissioners hear from and question parties to PUC cases, and deliberation at which Commissioners discuss and decide cases. Unlike a public witness hearing, the public may only observe, and may not comment, at regular hearings and deliberations. Commission deliberations are usually on Mondays; call in advance or check the Commission’s web site to be sure of the time and to confirm that the item that concerns you is on the agenda. Deliberations occur at the Public Utilities Commission offices in Augusta.

The Administrative Director prepares an agenda of issues to be deliberated by the Commission on a particular day and forwards it to all parties in advance. In addition, anyone who wishes to receive hearing notices, deliberative agendas and orders in any proceeding may notify the Commission, or view these documents at the PUC office in Augusta.
