About the MLTI Student Conference

The object of the 2014 MLTI Student Conference is to gather, on the UMaine campus close to 1000 students and teachers in a 5:1 ratio to celebrate and share how the Maine Learning Technology Initiative is being leveraged across the state in ongoing efforts to transform MLTI schools into engaging and effective 21st century learning communities.

The goals of the conference are to:

  • engage students as primary presenters of and engaged participants in high quality STEM focused workshop sessions.
  • leverage collaborative relationships between the MLTI and organizations from across the state of Maine and well beyond.
  • highlight and encourage increased participation in locally developed educational projects that highlight Maine-based content.
  • bring middle and high school students to the UMaine campus as a way to encourage high aspirations.
  • engage all participants in a collaborative effort to demonstrate the power of a 1:1 digitally empowered human network
