The MLTI is excited to announce the MLTI-Teacher Preparation Collaborative, which marks a new partnership among the MLTI and teacher preparation programs in Maine. We're piloting the collaborative at the 2012 MLTI Student Conference at the University of Maine by hosting a meeting of three state programs that have already begun some MLTI integration in teacher education: UMaine, University of Maine at Farmington, and University of Southern Maine.
The outcome of the meeting is the identification of a three-year goal by each program, as well as annual program-specific objectives for measurement at the MLTI Student Conferences of 2013, 2014, and 2015.
The pilot of three teacher preparation programs will allow the MLTI to focus on the unique needs of each, thereby targeting resources and personnel. Our intent is to widen the audience of the MLTI-Teacher Preparation Collaborative in 2013, at which time results of the first year will be reported and a framework for supporting additional teacher preparation programs can be built.
If you have questions about the MLTI-Teacher Preparation Collaborative, please contact Cynthia Curry, MLTI Integration Mentor.
We have posted a Student Conference Notebook that we encourage ever
yone to review and download to their desktop.
