The goal of the MLTI-Teacher Preparation Collaborative is to better prepare Maine's new teachers to teach with technology. After a productive year of piloting a model for the Collaborative, we are ready and eager to expand to all of Maine's teacher preparation programs. If you're a teacher educator or a pre-service teacher, please join us!
The meeting of the Collaborative at the MLTI Student Conference will be an opportunity for the piloting programs (UMaine, UMF, and USM) to share their findings and recommendations for how higher education and the MLTI can partner in the pursuit of preparing new teachers for Maine's one-to-one classrooms. The agenda will include time for whole group meetings, cross-program conversations, and observations and interactivity with Maine's middle and high school students in attendance at the conference. A complete agenda is forthcoming.
On March 4th and 5th, invitations to attend the meeting of the Collaborative at the MLTI Student Conference were sent via email to each of Maine's teacher education programs. We are seeking participation of one faculty member and one teacher candidate from each of Maine's 16 programs. Depending on response, interested programs will be able to have more representation.
Cost per person is TBD - it will include attendance at the MLTI Student Conference and lunch.
Please contact Cynthia Curry at email@example.com to arrange attendance.
