2012 MLTI Summer Redistribution Information

Read the most recent info sent to Tech Leads about the 2012 Summer Redistribution Process

The summer redistribution process is the way MLTI collects extra devices that a school doesn't need because of decreased enrollment and then redistributes them to schools who anticipate increased enrollment in the coming school year. This helps to alleviate the demand for extra devices at the start of the school year.

After collecting survey data from all schools, the MLTI Project Office works with the schools to make arrangements for moving extra laptops until all schools have what they need for the coming school year. After the schools are sufficiently stocked, all remaining extras are directed to the Buffer Pool to replenish its stock.

Now might be a good time to do a physical inventory of your MLTI devices, too. We've begun to post effective inventory strategies (below in the FAQs) currently in use by schools. If you have a strategy you'd like to share, please contact the MLTI Project Office.

The following are some FAQs that address common terms and the redistribution process. We will add more FAQs to this page as we navigate this process. Should you have questions after reviewing this page, please contact the MLTI Project Office.
