On 09/23/13 the Commission announced that it appointed Barbara Archer Hirsch (f/k/a Goodwin) to serve as its next Commission Counsel, effective October 7, 2013
Ms. Archer Hirsch brings to the Commission extensive experience working with the Maine Human Rights Act and its federal counterparts, and her litigation skills will let her jump right into the courtroom on the Commission’s behalf. Having represented employees and employers, Ms. Archer Hirsch understands the concerns of both in the statute- and rule-making processes. She will wind down her private practice and will start at the Commission on October 7.
John Gause’s last day as Commission Counsel was October 4; he will work closely with Ms. Archer Hirsch on transition issues and plans. Thank you for helping us welcome Ms. Archer Hirsch to the Commission. We know you join us in thanking Mr. Gause for his distinguished service to the Commission and its constituents, and wishing him well as he returns to private practice.
