Disaster Assistance Team (DAT)

Many agencies of Maine State Government, and many volunteer agencies, have traditionally come together after disasters to support Maine citizens, businesses and communities in their long-term recovery.

This collaborative process has been formalized by Executive Order to identify those agencies and organizations whose participation is critical to our recovery as a State.

Those agencies include:

  • the Governor’s Office
  • Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management
  • Maine Emergency Management Agency
  • Department of Health and Human Services
  • Department of Economic and Community Development
  • Department of Agriculture
  • Department of Transportation
  • Department of Labor or designee
  • State Planning Office
  • Maine State Housing Authority
  • Bureau of Insurance
  • Finance Authority of Maine
  • Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General’s Office
  • Small Business Administration
  • Maine Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD)
  • American Red Cross

The MEMA Director is designated as the Chair of the Committee and may add additional members with the approval of the Governor.
