MAINE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY |
2006: Portland/South Portland TIC-P ExerciseMaine's Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TIC-P) was tested in a major exercise held in several venues in Portland and South Portland, September 14, 2006. This exercise focused on communications but also had an impressive technical response from Portland and South Portland, and numerous State and federal agencies. The TIC-P plan outlines procedures by which all departments responding to a major incident can communicate on common radio frequencies. Local responders, mutual aid partners, state agencies, military units and federal responders are then able to coordinate their activities at the scene. Special thanks go to Chief Fred Lamontagne and his staff at Portland Fire Department for all their assistance in putting on this exercise.
