1987 Flood: Kennebec River in Augusta

The 1987 flood filled downtown Augusta with filthy water and debris. These photos were taken April 2, 1987. The river crested at 5:00 am that morning, at 34.5 feet. Flood stage on the Kennebec at Augusta at the time was 13 feet. (It is now 12 feet.)
