2011 Flood Fatality Statistics from the National Weather Service
These flood fatality statistics from 2011 are courtesy of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service. Flooding is Maine's number one hazard in terms of damage, and loss of life. From these statistics, we can see that we are not alone. We are blessed in that there were no fatalities in Maine in 2011, but that is no cause for celebration, as we have been part of the statistics in the not-so-distant past.
