TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT: All-Hazards Position Specific Planning Section Chief (LO962)

This course provides local- and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Planning Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) managing the planning cycle, and 2) tracking resources and incident status. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their new knowledge.
The objective of the program is to describe the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Planning Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team.
Eligibility Requirements: NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position Specific training is available to personnel who are currently members of Type III or Type IV IMTs, or by those seeking credentials/certification for ICS Command and General Staff or Unit Leader positions within their organization. Applicants will be vetted for acceptance.
Applicants must obtain FEMA Student ID # and have completed ICS training competency to the 400 level. FEMA instructional staff from EMI will deliver the program. Copies of ICS 300/400 completion should accompany the application.
Course Location: The course will be held at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center, 352 North Street in Saco, Maine. Classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Lunch and breaks will be provided. Lodging may be provided for state and municipal government students travelling more than 50 miles from their work base. Call Mike at MEMA for details.
