Instructional Presentation and Evaluation Skills (G141)
November 1-3, 2016

This 3-day course addresses the practicalities of conducting successful interactions, managing the classroom experience, and making presentations. It covers the basics of adult learning and of training evaluation for those wanting more experience in this area.

Participants have several opportunities to practice presentation and instructional skills, first as spokespersons for small groups, then during short duo presentations, 3-minute individual presentations, and, finally, 20-minute individual presentations, using material related to their own programs or functions. Detailed feedback is provided.

Selection Criteria: Applicants will be vetted based upon current Emergency Management training responsibilities at the local, county, and State government level. Applicants must be approved by their sponsoring agencies or organization to ensure attendance.

MEMA Operations and Response Staff will deliver the program along with local Adjuncts.

Course Location: The course will be held in the MEMA classroom at the Central Maine Commerce Center (CMCC). CMCC is located at 45 Commerce Drive off Route 27 in North Augusta. Classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Lunch and breaks will be provided. Lodging may be available based on student qualification. Call MEMA for details. All other expenses are the responsibility of the student.
