The State Emergency Management Agency and Woodland Pulp LLC will be conducting both a tabletop and functional exercise of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for the Vanceboro Dam.

As a plan holder, responder or affected community, your participation is vital for ensuring adequate preparedness in the event of an emergency situation at Vanceboro Dam. The Tabletop exercise will provide an overall review of the EAP and discussion of each plan holders’ responsibilities under the plan. The Functional exercise will allow plan holders to carry out their responsibilities in response to a simulated emergency.

There will also be a visit/tour of the Vanceboro Dam and review of the immediate downstream area prior to the start of the Tabletop.

8:45 – 9:00 Registration –Vanceboro Fire Station
9:15 – 10:45 Tour of Vanceboro Dam
11:00 – 12:00 Review of Vanceboro EAP & TTX
12:00 – 1:00 Working Lunch
1:00 – 2:30 Functional Exercise
2:30 – 3:00 Exercise Hot Wash

Exercise Location: The exercise will be held at the Vanceboro Fire Station at 20 Third Street, Vanceboro ME (same address as the Town Office). Lunch will be provided.

In preparation for the exercise, please have your personnel review their responsibilities under the existing Vanceboro Dam EAP. Plan holders please bring your own copy of the EAP. Please feel free to forward this to anyone else that you feel may benefit from this exercise.
