Training Announcement: Lincoln County EMA to Conduct Basic PIO Course (G290)

Please note new dates change:Lincoln County EMA will be conducting the updated FEMA Course G290, Basic Public Information Officer, in three sessions, April 13, 17 and 20, 2010. All three sessions will be held at the Lincoln County Communications Building, 34 Bath Road, Wiscasset. PurposeTo assist participants with building the skills needed to be a full or part-time public information officer: such as oral and written communications, understanding and working with the media, and the basic tools and techniques of the PIO. This is a three day class. Who Should AttendEmergency management personnel, including fire, law enforcement, public health, voluntary organizations active in disasters, and others who have either full or part-time responsibilities for public information in their communities or departments. Successful completion of this course meets the pre-requisite for the Advanced Public Information Officers (E388) course at EMI. Prerequisite is Public Information Officer Awareness (G289), certificate is required to enter class.Topics
