FEMA Publishes Emergency Management Videos with Maine Focus
November 30, 2009
The Federal Emergency Management Agency Region One (FEMA) has completed and published a series of emergency management videos featuring Maine towns and people. FEMA has created this unique series of videos as part of a larger project to tell the story of emergency management through actual events. Each event is documented through video, narration and conversations with state, county and local officials. FEMA Regional staff has catalogued stories, historical items, pictures, video clips, and audio clips to preserve the emergency management history and culture in New England, and educate future emergency managers and the public as to what emergency management entails. The videos are posted in the public domain. FEMA encourages using these stories and items in presentations, posters and newsletters, web 2.0 and social media applications. The videos can be accessed on the FEMA web site and on YouTube.com. For more information, contact Annie Donovan, FEMA Region One: annie.donovan@dhs.gov.
