Open House to Help Seniors Prepare for Emergencies

September 17, 2008

AUGUSTA, MAINE -- The Maine Emergency Management Agency will hold an Open House for Seniors at their offices in Augusta on Monday, September 22nd from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Visitors will have an opportunity to:

• Tour the State Emergency Operations Center and learn about how the State responds to disasters
• Learn about individual and neighborhood emergency preparedness, and how individuals can help their communities be more prepared.
• See displays of emergency and disaster supplies
• Tour a demonstration Red Cross Disaster Shelter
• Go home with information to help them create their personal emergency plans
