New Training Announcement: Planning for the Unique Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place Needs of People with Medical Dependencies during a Disaster (MGT-411)

What: Planning for the Unique Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place Needs of People with Medical Dependencies during a Disaster is designed for the management and planning-level officials of an organization and will help participants to:

-Define medical dependencies

-Identify people with medical dependencies

-Identify the needs of this population and learn how to best plan for them

-Develop or enhance emergency planning coalitions to include representatives from key community stakeholders

-Plan for evacuation or shelter-in-place of people with medical dependencies within your community

-Plan for and execute repatriation and recovery after a disaster

Toolkit: The participant will be provided with numerous tools to help them plan for people with medical dependencies. These tools include:

-Sample emergency operations plan (EOP) terminology, ensuring the inclusion of people with medical dependencies

-Evaluation tool for current emergency operations plans

-Hazard Vulnerability Analysis Action Matrix

-HSEEP tabletop exercise materials

-Situation manual

-Exercise evaluation guide

-Exercise presentation

When: June 10, 2013 8:00AM-4:30PM

Target Audience: The target audience for this course includes:

-Emergency managers and planners

-Shelter workers/CERT teams

-Public health officials

-Community support groups/home healthcare agencies

-First responders

-Municipal officials

-Anyone else involved in decision-making for evacuation and sheltering
