Training Annoucement: Medical Preparedness and Response to Bombing Incidents

Medical Preparedness and Response to Bombing IncidentsOct 9-10, 2012The Central Maine Regional Resource Center will be hosting TEEX to conduct this training. This FREE two-day course will prepare pre-hospital and hospital personnel to safely respond to and manage bombing incidents. Utilization of case studies as well as a tabletop exercise will reinforce course material. Participants will use this training to participate in operational and command level discussions related to techniques and considerations for scene assessment, triage, treatment and stabilization. This course will enable participants to: -Identify Terrorist Targets -Understand Explosives and Characteristics -Identify pre-Attach Indicators Associated with a Bombing Incident -Recognize Bombing Incident Related Injury Patterns and -Treatment -Understand and Apply a variety of Triage Systems -Indentify Pre and Post Detonation Considerations -Identify Tactical and Operations Considerations -Recognize and Understand Resource Management options All participants should have verifiable experience in adult education / instruction. Participants who have a working knowledge of ICS through experience and training, and have experience delivering adult training. Participants must have worked as IC, command or general staff positions on incidents, planned events or exercises that were active for multiple operational periods or involved a written action plan and involved multiagency coordination. Nationally certified instructors from FEMA will conduct the program. This program is limited to 20 students so applications will be screened Target AudienceMaine First Responders, State and Local Emergency Management Agencies, Fire, Law Enforcement, Emergency Room Managers, Emergency Preparedness Committee Members and Medical Strike Teams. Course Location:The course will be held at the Fireside Inn and Suites which is located at 1777 Washington Street, Auburn. Classes will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
