New Training Announcement: Intermediate Incident Command System (ICS 300)

August 25 and 26, 2010; Augusta, MaineCourse Description:The Maine Emergency Management Agency will be conducting an incident command system course for command and policy level first response personnel. This 2-day course is designed for a multidiscipline audience of persons who would likely serve as supervisors in an ICS structure. Topics include organization and staffing, incident and event planning/staffing, organizing a response to an incident or planned event, and incident resource management. The course includes group activities, a tabletop exercise, and a final exam. This program is intended for middle management, command staff personnel. Mike Grant from MEMA and Arn Heggers from the US Coast Guard will be the primary instructors. Selection Criteria:Members of the State Emergency Response Team, State Agency Representatives and participants who would serve in supervisory positions in an ICS structure. Required Prerequisites:Successful completion and understanding of IS700/IS100/IS200 introductory NIMS and basic incident command training is a requirement for attendance. Students must provide proof of completions upon application in order to be considered. Course Location:The course will be held at the Maine Emergency Management Agency in Augusta, ME located at 45 Commerce Drive. Classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Lunch and breaks will be provided, all other expenses are the responsibility of the student.
