Bridge Breaking Competition

The University of Maine ASCE Student Chapter will be hosting a BRIDGE BREAKING COMPETITION at the 62ND Maine Transportation Conference. Challenge your co-workers, consultants, contractors, and students! Show off your engineering skills!

The Bridge Kit MUST be purchased ($10) from the Maine ASCE Student Chapter or through the 62nd Maine Transportation Conference registration. The kits will be numbered and cross-referenced at the competition.

The kits will be distributed well before the conference, so bridges can be painstakingly designed and built in advance. Bridges will ̀ rst be weighed, and then tested to failure in a test frame. The most efficient (strength to weight ratio) bridge will win!
