Traffic Engineering
The Maine Department of Transportation Traffic Engineering Division has two major functional sections: Design and Operations.
Design
This section is responsible for signal, lighting, and signing plans, and for site reviews. Its engineers and technicians provide guidance to Division traffic engineers and sign crews.
Operations
This section is responsible for crash records; traffic data collection; right of way control; sign shop operations; and maintenance of MaineDOT's electrical devices and pavement markings program.
