Data, Publications, and Resources

Crashes are devastating, with 35,000 – 40,000 fatalities occurring in the US in an average year. That number is about equal to the population of Lewiston! There is a lot of information available to educate people on transportation safety issues. Various agencies develop local safety information about Maine, but national studies certainly broaden the understanding what the trends are, why they are happening and ideas to decrease crash frequency and severity.
