    This program is directed at municipal officials and employees and/or plowing contractors who are responsible for maintaining winter roads in Maine.

 

What will be Covered:

  • Salting and Sanding Equipment

  • Snow Types-Storms-Stopping distances-Equipment

  • MDOT experience with "Salt priority" method

  • Chemical & Materials - Salt, Calcium, Mag Chloride, Ice Ban, etc.

  • Cost Comparisons Dry vs. Wet

  • Calibration of salt/sand spreaders "on-site" with actual town equipment
